About:
I decided I wanted to focus on combing a bunch the different things I learned in the animation and games concentration here at ATEC (or AHT as it might be known now). In order to do this I decided and to design, model, texture, and rig my own 3D model for my senior capstone. I took inspiration from cartoony avatars I see in games such as vrchat.
Development:
Rigging:
Here's a screenshot from when I was working on the controls for the rig.
I was about 50% through rigging at the time.
I had IK handles set up to control the hands feet and braid of hair.
Texturing:
Here we have a texture callout I made to help me decide on my textures before I actually painted them inside abode substance painter.
It includes some of my reference and inspiration behind doing this style of character as well.
Modeling:
This is a in progress shot of my modeling. On the right you have my proxy and on the left the start of my finished model.
These are drawings I made you use as backplates inside of Maya during modeling to get everything scaled right.
Concept:
Here we have the original concept art I made of this character next to the simplified version I made for this project pre-semester
